This scenario is based on the experiences of many students. Please read the scenario, and attempt to identify the problems in the interaction, and ways it could be improved.

Scenario

Part 1

You are back at your parents house for Thanksgiving. Your brother arrives home and is wearing a skirt. It is dark blue, floor length and has a pink and white flower design.

Part 2

Your uncle sees your brother and says, “What are you? Gay?” Some members of your family laugh and the rest stay quiet.
